Ten Tips to Choose Wedding Vendors

Wedding planning begins with selecting a date, a venue and then following the vendors who give a shape to your event. Few tips will help you navigate the vendor list, though your reason and instinct will be essential as you pick the team that will make you confident and excited about your wedding planning.

Choose the date and the venue

There has to be a point when you start choosing from the available options and the initial choice would be the wedding date. Based on this a list of wedding vendors will be given to you. While it is easy to work with vendors who have decorated or done other work in the same venue, feel free to choose from others, whose work seems better.

Some venues offer a complete package like Opulent Hotel and resort.

It is a  ten-minute drive from the Chattarpur temple complex with 21 luxurious rooms, two suites, two banquet halls and one lawn. The natural beauty of the place adds to the excellent decor and services offered by the venue. Shimmery drapes, decked up chairs, floral designs and marble floors of the covered halls transform the place into a fairyland.

Estimate the budget

Pre-determining the budget for the entire ceremony is essential. It will help in allocating resources for every part of the event and will reign in the flights of fancy.

Discuss with your partners the budget that is set aside for different vendors- decorators, caters, videographers, entertainment.

Check out the vendors who fall within that budget range.

Pick the team

This would include a photographer, videographer, florist, caterer, stationer, and band, not to mention planner and event designer! They should be able to work together.

Whoever gets a big chunk from your budget, whether it is a decor person or catering or florist, would be a personal decision. It will depend on the theme of your wedding and the number of guests.

Theme

Look at hashtags for your venue and other venues in the area on Instagram to see what vendors are being used by people.

Tivoli Boutique Hotel in Delhi is twenty minutes walking from Pacific mall. As part of Tivoli hospitality, the Lawrence road hotel has three magnificent banqueting spaces, The Raas, The Leela and The Chamber, fifteen luxurious rooms and suites for planning a grand evening. Each banquet has a different capacity - while the Chamber can host 100 guests, the Mirrored Raas can host nearly 500 guests and the plush, chandeliered Leela is best for elaborate weddings.

Reviews

Go beyond the portfolios given by the vendors. The better way would be to check for referrals from either previous clients or talk to close friends and family, who had a recent wedding. But do not accept blindly if it does not seem right to you.

Services

Keep an eye on the vendors while you are screening them. Such behaviour as a late reply, disorganized planning, poor references, defensiveness should be warning signals to discontinue their service.

Visit some weddings

Not always possible, but you can ask vendors to show you around weddings that they are currently part of. It will give you more confidence in choosing the right one for your wedding.

Pay attention to social media profiles and official websites of vendors.

Vendor contract

Despite careful selection, things can go wrong, like no shows or vendor cancellation. To avoid such pitfalls, make a vendor contract where all services they will be providing are listed. Read thoroughly, and ask questions about services expected from the vendors.

Go with your gut

The voice of reason is important but our gut is our second brain. Hence, choose vendors if they connect with you at a deeper level because together you and they will work to make the wedding theme real.

Finally,

When you have chosen the vendors, do not micromanage them. It is best to give a set of clear instructions in the beginning and if there are issues, then try to work together on solving them.
