Money can buy a lot of things but not everything. We list some of the best budget family vacation places in Gurgaon for you.

Manesar

A few resorts in Manesar provide a rural Haryanvi feel. Based on a concept similar to Jaipur's Choki Dhani, these resorts provide a variety of activities during the day and campfires at night. Overall, Manesar provides the urban dwellers with an exciting rural offbeat experience.

  • Lohagarh farms

People who want to refresh their memories with true rural experiences can indulge in wonderful local food, know the customs of rural living, enjoy folk music and dances, and take back memories of a weekend well spent.

  • Rangmanch farms

It's on the outskirts of Gurgaon, around 15 minutes from the Jaipur National Highway, and is quite affordable. It includes both indoor and outdoor games/activities like camel/horse/tractor/bull(artificial) rides, trampoline, TT, pool table, zip line (one of the best), ropes activities, rain dance, tube well bath, etc. Breakfast and lunch prepared from locally sourced vegetables will surely satiate you.

Sohna and damdama lake

Sohna is one of the best destinations to visit near Gurgaon due to its hilly and green environment.   Damdama Lake, framed by the Aravalli mountains, offers numerous opportunities for boating, and if you are an avid rock climber, you will have plenty of opportunities to test your talents in the vicinity. Damdama Lake is ideal if you want to spend some time in nature with your loved ones.

Travel distance from Delhi-24 kilometres | 40 minutes from Gurgaon

At Damdama lake road is Smart View Hotel for a fun-filled experience.

Sheetladevi temple

Religious pilgrimage gives us mental solace, and we can go to

this temple devoted to Sheetala Devi, the presiding deity, is near a pond in one of Gurgaon's villages. Guru Dronacharya was also born in this village. Devotees flock to this temple on Mondays during the month of Chaitra, which runs from March to April.

Basai wetlands

The Basai wetlands are located near Delhi, around 2 kilometres west of Gurgaon and 8 kilometres east of Sultanpur National Park.

This wetland, with its typha reed beds and mustard fields, is home to an incredible variety of species. Here, one can see birds such as warblers, weavers, and bitterns, as well as non-avian creatures like jackal and nilgai. There's a lot to see here, especially in the colder months, when the world's highest-flying geese, the bar-headed geese, flock here in large numbers. Watching fliers like the ashy Prinia and flocks of larger flamingos is a great way to spend the mornings.

The area is surrounded by poor agricultural land that is leased seasonally to rice, wheat, and mustard. There are only a few trees, but they are fruiting figs.

Sultanpur sanctuary

Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is one of the best weekend getaways near Gurgaon. This low-lying marsh densely forested with trees, shrubs, and clusters of brightly coloured bougainvillaea is home to about 250 native bird species and draws over 190 migratory bird species.

On the Gurgaon - Farukh Nagar Road, the sanctuary is 46 kilometres from Delhi and 15 kilometres from Gurgaon.

In the sanctuary are four watch towers (machans) positioned, at various sites, to enable bird observation. A resort complex, in the sanctuary, has plenty of parking and amenities such as restrooms and drinking water. The sanctuary provides a stunning vision of migratory birds in the winter, while certain species of migratory birds visit even in the summer.

Hotel Manyaa is a budget hotel and offers every comfort for a pleasant stay in Gurgaon.

Bhondsi nature camp

Another wonderful camp to enjoy is the 100-acre wildlife camp in Bhondsi, near Gurgaon. This park is around 10 kilometres from Gurugram. Aravali Hills Gurgaon includes Eco-lodges, Tents, Herbal Gardens, Tree Huts, and Forest Trails. A rainwater collection system, composting, a solar water pump, and a water recycling system are all available in this nature camp area. There is also a lake of 70 acres.

It's a hidden jewel in Gurgaon, and only a few people know about it. This Baoli was constructed, from stone, lime plaster, and bricks, during the reign of Mughal emperor Farrukh Siyar. People used to get water from this Baoli for their everyday needs.

There is also the fort built in 1732, by Nawab Faujdar Khan, in Farrukh Nagar, Gurugram. A must-see for everyone interested in Gurgaon's history it draws ex-pats and tourists.
